Monoprinting: Coastal Inspiration

Taking our cue from gorgeous local coastal views, we will use Gelli plates to create colorful monoprint landscapes. If Gelli plates are new to you, no worries! This class is a good fit for both experienced and new artists. Each technique will be demonstrated step-by-step, starting with a single color, then building up to mixing and layering paints and textures. All images are printed on heavy cotton paper, without a printing press, for one of a kind, vibrant paintings.

Aviário Studio is an art residency situated in the center of Portugal. The studio was an old aviary converted into 5 differently equipped workshops, with facilities for printmaking, ceramics, wood, metal, sculpture, installation, drawing, painting, photography, and bookbinding. Artists can develop projects using various mediums and a combination of technologies.
